Have kids who love animals? If you're looking for animals near you in Scranton we have the list! From zoo animals to farm animals, and from the furry to the scaly, we have all the animals you'll need to please your little animal lover in Scranton and nearby communities.


Brookvalley Farm
22 Brookvalley Road, Fell Township, PA 18407

Guests can enjoy unicorn and pony rides, horse-drawn carriages, a petting zoo, and trail rides. Petting zoo animals include goats, rabbits, chickens, ducks, piglets, a calf, and a miniature horse. Farm tours are available by appointment only, May through October.


Claws "N" Paws Wild Animal Park
1475 Ledgedale Rd., Lake Ariel, PA 18436

This open-air attraction features alpacas, lions, monkeys, alligators, camels, bears, giraffes, otters, macaws, porcupines, emu, and so many more incredible animals. Pricing ranges from $17.50 to $22.50 per guest. Memberships are available. Bring cash for snacks and animal feed.


Double 'A' Farm
1648 Layton Road, Scott Township, PA 18447

Double 'A' Farm is a family-run and operated full-service equestrian facility nestled in the scenic mountains of northeastern Pennsylvania. Horseback riding lessons are available by appointment Tuesday through Saturday for all levels of riders from beginner through advanced for both children and adults.


Electric City Aquarium & Reptile Den
300 Lackawanna Ave, Scranton, PA 18503

This facility is home to sharks, alligators, invertebrates, tortoises, lizards, snakes, and so many more exciting animals. Day passes range from $16.95 to $20.95 per visitor. 


Hidden Hills Stable

This 40-stall family-friendly facility offers boarding and horseback riding lessons- both English and Western. Private and group lessons are offered for a variety of skill levels from beginner to advanced. Lesson horses are available for riding as well as educational opportunities such as grooming, tacking and horse safety.


Indraloka Animal Sanctuary
333 Oak Dr, Dalton, PA 18414

Indraloka Animal Sanctuary is "heaven on earth" for animals that have nowhere else to turn. Guests can participate in tours and family-friendly events that include visits with alpacas, chickens, cows, ducks, geese, goats, horses, pigs, sheep, rabbits, turkeys, and cats.


Pocono Snake & Animal Farm
424 Seven Bridge Rd, East Stroudsburg, PA 18301

Enjoy a variety of reptiles and animals at this family-run park. From the huge 23-foot python to the tiniest Cotton-Top Tamarin, these special animals will thrill the entire family. Open year-round, tickets are $7.50 for kids (ages 2-11) and $9.50 for general admission.


Safari Farm Petting Zoo
1675 Mt Cobb Rd, Lake Ariel, PA 18436

This educational petting zoo offers a variety of animal interactions including (but not limited to) experiences with goats, horses, camels, snakes, ducks, cockroaches, pigs, and rabbits.

Admission is $13 per person.
