Event Proceeds will benefit the Y’s Financial Assistance Program

DUNMORE, PA, 06/03/2024 – Join the Greater Scranton YMCA on Saturday, September

28th, 2024, for a family friendly 5K Run & 1 Mile Walk. Event proceeds will support the Y’s

Annual Support Campaign, which provides scholarship funding to low-income individuals

and families, allowing them to benefit from all the Y has to offer.

Registration is open. The cost for participants ages 10 & up who register by September

26th is $25. Participants under the age of 10 are free. Race day registration is available for

$35.00. Participants who register by September 13th will receive a T-shirt. Day of race

check-in and packet pick-up will be open from 7:30-8:45 a.m. and an awards ceremony will

take place at approximately 9:45 a.m.

“Here at the Y, we are proud to turn no one away for an inability to pay,” said Trish Fisher,

President & CEO, Greater Scranton YMCA. “Our financial assistance program helps children

attend daycare and preschool, families join the Y, youth participate in swim lessons and

programming and more. We are so excited to provide our community with an opportunity to

come together to support those in need.”

Thus far, the race is generously sponsored by Precor. For more information and to register,
